Handmade Plaster Eggshell - Newborn & Sitter Photography Prop

Create whimsical Easter, spring and fine art photography setups with our handmade plaster eggshell — an original photography prop created by Treasure Island Photo Props for newborn and sitter sessions.

Sculptural, beautifully irregular and intentionally one of a kind, each eggshell is individually handmade. The broken-edge pattern is created separately for every piece, which means no two eggshells are ever exactly the same.

The irregular silhouette is part of the character of the prop - making every shell a unique piece created especially for your photography studio.

Two Sizes

Choose the size that best suits your photography setup:

40 cm - ideal for newborn photography and smaller setups
50 cm - ideal for sitter photography and larger arrangements

The eggshell can be ordered as the main deep shell, designed as the primary posing prop, or with the smaller matching eggshell piece to create a more complete broken-egg composition.

The smaller piece can be incorporated creatively into the scene - placed beside the main shell, used as part of the styling or held above the child as shown in our gallery.

No Two Eggshells Are Ever the Same

Every broken edge is created by hand. Its peaks, curves, depth and overall pattern will naturally vary between individual pieces.

The photographs in our gallery show examples of eggshells we have created previously. Your prop will have its own individual broken-edge pattern rather than being an exact copy of one shown in the photographs.

If you have a particular style of opening or broken-edge shape in mind, please contact us before ordering. We can create a custom cut especially for your photography concept.

All cut edges are carefully sanded and rounded to create a smoother finish suitable for use as a photography prop.

Optional Hand-Painted Crack Effect

For an even more realistic cracked-egg appearance, we can add hand-painted crack details upon request.

Each crack pattern is painted individually, making the finish unique to your prop. Please contact us before ordering if you would like this additional custom detail.

Important Safety Information

Due to the handmade construction and individual shape of this prop, we strongly recommend providing additional support and stabilization during every photography session, particularly when the eggshell is used for sitter photography.

The prop should always be used under the direct supervision of an adult and professional photographer. Never leave a baby or child unattended in or around the prop.

Because every piece is individually created, slight differences in shape, surface texture, colour and broken-edge pattern are natural characteristics of the handmade process.
